Doha, June 24 (QNA) - The recommendations of the 38th Session of the World Heritage Committee have called for improving and developing the standards, said Dr. Fatima Hassan Al Sulaiti, Director of Archaeology and Heritage Sites at Qatar museums, who is also a member of the Qatari delegation participating in the world heritage meeting in Doha.

They also include that the members review and assess these recommendations and to set a temporary agenda for 39th session, which will be held in Bonn, Germany, in 2015, Dr. Al Sulati added.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, she said that the participants in today's session nominated Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office Maria Boehmer to chair the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee, in addition to five vice-presidents and selected the rapporteur from Lebanon.

Dr. Al Sulaiti praised the distinguished convening and managing of the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee, being organized by the current chair of the 38th session, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani.

She also commended HE Sheikha Al Mayassa's active role in managing the event's sessions, noting that the Qatari delegation participated actively in presenting a number of amendments to a set of draft resolutions that have been discussed and approved during the session. (QNA)
