Football: Aston Villa Sack Tim Sherwood
London, October 25 (QNA) - Aston Villa have sacked on Sunday manager Tim Sherwood after eight months in charge.
The club is currently 19th in the Premier League table having collected four points from 10 matches. The decision came after Villa lost yesterday at home 1-2 to Swansea. Under-21 manager Kevin McDonald has been placed in interim charge.
Sherwood was appointed in February and managed to reach the FA Cup final after a famous victory against Liverpool. This season however he has only one game out of 10. The loss to Swansea was the sixth on the trot. Villa have lost their two best players in the summer in the form of Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke. The money was reinvested however in the squad but the team failed to perform this season.
Sherwood has relatively little experience in management. His only other job was interim manager of Tottenham. (QNA)
