Qatar Handball Team Beat India in Asian Beach Games 2016

Da Nang, September 27 (QNA) - Qatar’s handball team beat India 2-0 in fifth Asian Beach Games 2016 in Dan Nang, Vietnam on Monday. The national handball team is pooled in group A alongside, Pakistan, Bahrain, Thailand and India, while group B includes hosts Vietnam, Oman, Japan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. 

The handball squad is scheduled to lock horns against Thailand in their second match on Tuesday. On other hand, Qatar’s beach volleyball teams continued their winning streak by defeating China Taipei 2-0 and beating hosts Vietnam 2-1. 

On the same track of victory, Qatar’s Beach Basketball team recorded two victories over Laos 21-12 and China 17-16. In these prestigious Games , Qatar sport teams are competing in seven games including football, handball, volleyball, basketball, athletics, wrestling and swimming. 

An estimated 3.000 athletes from 45 countries and territories, including 350 competitors from Vietnam, rivalling in 14 categories The ABG5 are featuring 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 178 events. The logo represents sand and waves in the shape of youthful and energetic athletes, while the mascot features a swift let - a distinctive bird of Vietnam's southern central coast. (QNA)
