Qatar National Football Team Wins Andorra in a Friendly Match

London, August 16 (QNA) - Qatar's national football team defeated Andorra 1-0 in their last friendly in Birmingham on Wednesday in preparation for Syria and China's Asian qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup. Ali Asad scored for Qatar in the 74th minute. 

The Qatari team won the first friendly match against Leeds United 2-0, while the team lost the second match against Nottingham Forest 2-1. The Spanish coach, Felix Sanchez, has selected a list of 30 players for the preparatory camp. 

Qatar will meet the Syrian team in Malaysia on August 31, then will play against China on September 5 in Doha in Group A matches, which also includes Iran, South Korea and Uzbekistan.

Qatar is ranked fifth in Group A with seven points, Iran lead the group with 20 points and have qualified officially for the 2018 World Cup. South Korea are second with 13 points, Uzbekistan with 12 points and Syria fourth with 9 points, and finally China with 6 points. (QNA)
