Chairman of Camel Racing Committee Delighted with Competition in Founder's Race

Doha, December 22 (QNA) - Chairman of the Camel Race Organizing Committee HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al-Thani expressed Friday his delight at the strong competition seen during the fourth day of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Hejin race.

The Chairman said in an exclusive statement given to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the competition today was exciting as all participants wanted the win. Eventually, camels of HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad bin Khalif Al-Thani won three of the four races, with Al Shahaniya hejin winning the fourth.

The Chairman of the Camel Racing Committee congratulated the winners, and wished those who couldn't win better luck next time. His Excellency said he expects the competition to increase even further in the coming days. His Excellency added that the previous races which took place over the past four days were already highly competitive, something that reflecting the interest in the sport of the fathers and founders of the country.

In his concluding remarks, The Chairman of the Camel Racing Committee said that the races were witnessing tremendous support from HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as the sport allows for reminiscing about the past days. His Excellency stressed the committee's commitment on holding such events each year, and boosts its chances of success by offering valuable grand prizes for all races. The winner of each race get a car, while those in the other places earn prize money. (QNA)
