Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street Witnesses Signing of Four New Books
Doha, March 21 (QNA) - The Katara Library of Arabic Novels organized at Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street a signing ceremony for four new books, within the activities of Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street organized by the Katara Publishing House in cooperation with the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum.
The authors, HE Secretary-General of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Engineer Ibrahim Youssef Fakhro, Chef Aisha Al Tamimi, and the journalist Aisha Al Idrisi, signed their new publications.
HE Secretary-General of QRCS Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, who wrote 'Diplomacy and the Culture of Humanitarian Action' book published by Katara Publishing House, stated that he was keen to produce an interesting scientific material that combines diplomatic work and humanitarian work, adding that working in the humanitarian field added another dimension to his career after his assignment to work as QRCS Secretary-General.
HE said that the book discusses, in its six chapters, two important principles: "diplomacy" on the one hand, and "humanitarian work" on the other hand, leading to "humanitarian diplomacy" which is one of the complementary tools of traditional diplomacy.
For his part, Engineer Ibrahim Youssef Fakhro, author of 'A Journey to Makkah' published by Katara Publishing House, said that his book contains 21 highly illustrated paintings, most of which were painted by orientalists at different times, pointing out that these paintings highlight the developments that the Holy Kaaba has gone through over time and it also reflects the suffering of the pilgrims on their way to Mecca, which would have taken more than two months.
Also, Chef Aisha Al Tamimi, who wrote 'Mawa'ed ' series which includes five books on cooking, gave a detailed explanation of the contents of its seventh edition, pointing out that she has been practicing the profession of cooking for three decades, and trying to provide everything new and useful in the field of Qatari, Arab and international cuisine.
In the conclusion of her speech, Chef Aisha Al Tamimi extended thanks to the Cultural Village General Organization (Katara) for adopting the launch of these new publications, which allowed the authors to meet with their readers and compensate for the absence of the Doha International Book Fair this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
For her part, Aisha Al Idrisi, author of A B C Life, stated that her book is literary texts, in which she included a summary of her life experience through the many situations she went through and it also contains a set of books that inspired her understanding of life.
In her speech, Al Idrisi thanked the Director of the Katara Library of Arabic Novel Khaled Diab Al Muhannadi, for his support and encouragement. (QNA)
