Doha, March 29 (QNA) - Qatar Endurance Committee announced Monday the end of the 2020/2021 sports season, due to the precautionary measures taken in Qatar in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Concluding the season before the end of the announced races was within the framework of the committee's concern for the safety of all, said the committee, noting that the schedule of races for the 2021/2022 sports season is being prepared and will be announced soon.
Director of the Qatar Endurance Committee Amer Al Hamidi affirmed, in a statement, that the decision to end the season aimed at preserving the safety of all, especially as the season is nearing its end and there are only two races remaining, adding that the current season, despite its late start, was successful. The committee was able to organize many races and implement the announced program despite the coronavirus pandemic, he said, adding that it witnessed the emergence of new riders and owners, which contributed to the increased strength of the competitions.
