Kuala Lumpur, April 27 (QNA) - The road to futsals biggest event became clear for four Asian teams, with match-ups for the AFC Playoffs for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 revealed in a draw on Tuesday.
Iraq will face Thailand, while Vietnam will play Lebanon, with the respective winners of the two-legged playoffs to advance to global finals.
The first legs of the playoffs will be staged on May 20, with the return matches pencilled in for five days later.
The winners will complete the list of Asian Qualifiers, with Japan, Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan already assured of a place in the final draw based on historic results in recent AFC Futsal Championship tournaments.
Iraq will appear in the FIFA Futsal World Cup for the first time if they are successful in their clashes against 2012 hosts Thailand, while a maiden appearance also awaits Lebanon should they overcome Vietnam.
The FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 will get underway on September 12, with the final to be held in the city of Klaipeda on October 3. (QNA)
