WHO Says COVID-19 Deaths Likely to 2 or 3 Times Higher
Geneva, May 21 (QNA) - The World Health Organization said that the official death tolls from the COVID-19 pandemic are likely to be two to three times higher than the reported number.
In the World Health Statistics report, the WHO estimated that total deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 were at least 3 million, or 1.2 million more than the officially reported figures. WHO's Assistant Director-General in the data and analytics division Samira Asma that 6 to 8 million deaths could be a closer estimate to the actual number of deaths. (QNA)
