Ashghal and Qatar Foundation for Social Work Sign MoU

Doha, June 19 (QNA) - The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at training and empowering employees of Qatar Foundation for Social Work centers such as the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, Orphan Care Center (Dreama), and Al Noor Center for the Blind in the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
The signing of this memorandum comes in the interest of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work to support and strengthen its centers, to develop and activate their role in society, and to develop strategies, policies and programs that contribute to the advancement of these institutions so that they can achieve the goals for which they were established.
The signing of this memorandum also reflects the social role of the Public Works Authority, and its keenness to affirm its social responsibility towards a number of important groups in society.
The memorandum aims to organize joint activities between the two parties to achieve the strategic and common goals. The Qatar Foundation for Social Work will also hold introductory seminars for the staff of the Authority.
The two parties also provide the necessary media support in its various forms in the scope of joint events and activities related to social work.
The memorandum was signed by HE President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, and the CEO of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Kuwari.
The period of implementation of the memorandum is three years, and it is automatically renewed for a similar period or periods. A joint committee will be formed from representatives of the institution and the authority to set the controls and mechanisms for implementing this memorandum, including defining the roles and responsibilities of the two parties regarding the scope of implementation of the memorandum and settling any arrangements related to it.
On this occasion, CEO of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Kuwari stressed the keenness of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work to build bridges of cooperation with various state institutions.
He pointed out that the Foundation seeks to empower all its members, especially those with disabilities and orphans, by creating job opportunities and training, believing in their abilities, and in an effort to achieve real empowerment for these groups.
He added that the signing of this memorandum is a confirmation of the new strategy of the Foundation, which is based on three main pillars, including cooperation and excellence and the cooperation with the Public Works Authority in training and empowering employees of the Foundation's centers confirms the new direction of the Foundation to focus on serving and empowering various groups in Qatari society.
For his part, HE President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi explained that the signing of the memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the strategic axes of the authority, which emphasizes achieving excellence and developing capabilities, because it believes in the role and capabilities of everyone, including orphans and people with disabilities, and therefore sought to create training and employment opportunities for them.
His Excellency stressed that the memorandum confirms the social role of the authority on the one hand and reflects its social responsibility towards a number of important groups on the other hand.
His Excellency added that Ashghal is keen to support all development processes in society to achieve Qatar Vision 2030, stressing that economic and social development requires cooperation with various sectors and in all fields. (QNA)
