Tokyo, August 07 (QNA) - The Qatari mission participating in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 lived great historic and moments after winning the bronze medal in the beach volleyball event, the first Arab Olympic medal in a team game.
Board Member of Qatar Volleyball Association Mohammed and Vice Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Committee Salem Al Kuwari praised the victory of Al-Adaam team consisting of the duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan who won the bronze medal in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Al Kuwari expressed delight with the historic achievement of Qatar's beach volleyball team who presented distinguished performance, noting that the accomplishment represents a motive for the duo for more accomplishments, whether in Paris 2024 Olympics or other international tournaments.
Al Kuwari noted the achievements of the Qatari sports thanks to the support of the wise leadership and the great attention paid by HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.
President of Qatar Weightlifting Federation Mohammed Yousef Al Mana expressed pleasure with the historic achievement, noting that winning a medal in any team game gives great momentum and motivates others to make more achievements at all levels.
He congratulated Qatar for winning the bronze of the beach volleyball in Tokyo Olympics, stressing that it was the fruit of a great efforts exerted by Qatar Volleyball Association led by Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari, with the great support provided by Qatar Olympic Committee under the presidency of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.
General Secretary of Qatar Athletics Federation Mohammed Essa Al Fudala praised the Qatari historic victory at the conclusion of Tokyo Olympics 2020, extended the sincerest congratulations to the wise leadership which provided great support to achieve such accomplishments, and to Qatar Olympic Committee under the presidency of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Champion of Qatar beach volleyball team Cherif Younousse said that winning the bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics was not easy, noting that the Latvian duo was hard.
Younousse said that the historic achievement will be a strong motive for the team to continue successes in the coming tournaments, including Paris 2024 Olympics.
Champion Ahmed Tijan expressed great delight with winning the bronze medal, noting that the game was not easy and the Latvian team was strong.
He dedicate the achievement to the Qatari people, all those responsible for the Qatari sport, and everyone who contributed to reaching the podium for the first time in the history of the Qatari beach volleyball. (QNA)
