Doha, August 10 (QNA) - Duhail Club announced today its official contract with Portuguese coach Luis Castro, to take over the responsibility of Managing the first football team for one season, succeeding French coach Sabri Lamouchi.
Al-Duhails decision to part ways with Lamouchi comes just one month before the start of the new season (2021/2022) of the Qatar Football League (QNB Stars League), which will start on September 11.
The club said, in a statement on their official website, that the 60-year-old Castro is one of the names that have proven successful in the world of coaching, after coaching a number of clubs, the last of which was the Ukrainian "Shakhtar Donetsk".
He added that the club is looking forward with this coach to achieve good results and return again to win trophies next season, after the team's performance and results declined last season.
It is noteworthy that Duhail had some strong signings like Belgian Toby Alderweireld, South Korean Nam Tae Hee and Tunisian Ferjani Sassi.(QNA)
