Doha, August 23 (QNA) - The Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC), represented by the Execution Department, announced the number of rulings it has executed and the amount of money that has been paid during the current judicial season. The rulings executed varied between rulings that include the payment of sums of money and others that include obligating the convicts to take certain procedures.
The Council noted that the amounts that were paid according to the final judgments were 1 billion, 226 million, 160 thousand and 117.55 Qatari riyals, in addition to the amount of 334 million, 914 thousand and 150 Qatari riyals, which is the proceeds of judicial auctions carried out by the Department.
The Execution Department accomplished an unprecedent achievement in the number of eviction rulings and decisions issued by the courts and the Rental Disputes Settlement Committee, which reached 1,049 evictions. The average time for implementing the eviction ruling was three days after filing the executive case.
The Department is headed by a judge of the Court of Appeal, assisted by a number of judges and officials who have the capacity of judicial police. A sufficient number of police officers and personnel is assigned to it.
The execution judge is exclusively competent to decide on all substantive and temporary execution disputes, whatever they are, and to issue decisions and orders related to implementation. He also decides on temporary execution disputes in his capacity as a judge for urgent matters.
On the other hand, the Cabinet had previously approved the Judicial Execution Bill, which is expected achieve a qualitative leap in the implementation of judicial rulings and the requirements for the rights of the acquitted persons as soon as possible, while preserving judicial guarantees for all litigants.
It is worth noting that one of the reasons for the increase in the proceeds of the executed funds is due to the adoption of electronic procedures in the implementation of court decisions, as a modern electronic program for judicial auctions was adopted, which achieved several things, the most important of which are: and the speed in completion and achieving a higher value for the bidding funds with the greatest degree of transparency, where the bidding takes place publicly and directly; electronic auctions also saved a lot of expenses that were spent on preparing the auction hall and saved a lot of hardship for employees and bidders.
The Supreme Judiciary Council inaugurated in February 2019 the "Execution Department" within the framework of Law No. (3) of 2019 amending some provisions of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law, promulgated by Law No. (13) of 1990, in order to achieve the concept of prompt justice. (QNA)
