Doha, December 24 (QNA) - Qatar SC defeated Al Rayyan 1-0 in Week 10 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Friday. Sebastian Soria netted the winner in the 15th minute as Qatar SC took their points tally to 12 points. Al Rayyan stood on nine points.
Qatar SC raised their points tally to 12, while Al Rayyan remained on nine points.
QNB Stars League's website said that both teams fought hard throughout. Qatar SC dominated the first half and reaped the benefit through Sorias goal, with Bahaa Ellethy setting him up with a cross. The goal spurred Qatar SC on and they had an edge over their rivals.
In the second half, Qatar SC brought in Nigerian striker Anthony Okpotu. In the 55th minute, Al Rayyan goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri thwarted Soria and soon stopped Bashar Resan from scoring. Al Rayyan, in their bid to intensify the attacks, brought in Shojae Khalilzadeh and Abdulrahman Al Korbi. In the 58th minute, Al Rayyan missed a real chance by James Rodriguez from Yacine Brahimis pass, as Qatar SC goalkeeper Jassim Al Hail swung into action. The last minutes saw big excitement, but the scoreboard remained the same and Qatar SC emerged as the winners. (QNA)
