Prime Minister, Moroccan Counterpart Co-Chair 8th Session of Qatari-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee

Doha, February 07 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani and HE Head of Government of the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch co-chaired the meeting of the 8th session of the Qatar-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee.
At the outset of the meeting, which was held Monday morning at the Amiri Diwan, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior welcomed HE the Head of the Moroccan Government and his accompanying delegation, commending the brotherly relations between the two countries, which continue to grow and prosper thanks to the joint keenness of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, to enhance relations in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
His Excellency expressed his aspiration for the committee's meetings to result in the contribution to achieving cooperation and mutual interests, indicating that Qatar and Morocco share views on regional and international issues, and looking forward to strengthening cooperation on issues of concern to the Arab and Islamic nations.
For his part, HE Head of Government of the Kingdom of Morocco expressed his thanks and appreciations to His Excellency and the government and people of Qatar, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, hoping that his visit will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly countries, as well as the achievement of the two peoples' aspired bilateral cooperation in various fields, noting that the Qatari-Moroccan relations are constantly evolving thanks to the care and support provided by the two countries leaders.
He also expressed his congratulations to the State of Qatar for organizing the first legislative elections, and for its success in organizing the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, emphasizing his confidence in Qatar's ability to organize an honorable FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - acquiring global acknowledgment and honoring all Arabs.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing them in various fields of cooperation, especially the fields of economy, investment, culture, sports and tourism. They also reviewed the recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
His Excellency and Head of the Moroccan Government signed the minutes of the meeting of the Joint Supreme Committee's 8th session.
After the meeting, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HE Head of the Moroccan Government witnessed the signing of a number of programs and memoranda of understanding (MoU) between the two governments, as they witnessed the signing of an MoU in the field of endowments and Islamic affairs, an MoU for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business events, and an MoU for cooperation in the field of oversight work between the State Audit Bureau of Qatar and the Supreme Court of Accounts in the Kingdom of Morocco. They also witnessed the signing of the 5th executive program of the cultural and technical agreement for the years 2022-2023-2024-2025, in addition to the signing of the second executive program in the field of sports for the cooperation agreement between the two governments in the field of youth and sports for the years 2022-2023-2024, and the draft of the third executive program in the field of youth for the cooperation agreement between the two governments in the field of youth and sports for the years 2022-2023-2024.
The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by Their Excellencies the Ministers and Their Excellencies members of the official accompanying delegation of HE the Head of the Moroccan Government. (QNA)
