Doha, February 09 (QNA) - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), one of the partner universities of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will organize a webinar on Thursday to celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2022.
The webinar will discuss the careers of the most prominent women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in Qatar and abroad, in addition to the role of women scientists as makers and inspirers, with the participation of experts from all over the world, and many women scientists from various research centers and universities affiliated with Qatar Foundation.
Associate Dean for the Office of Diversity and Climate at CMU-Q Dr. Annette Vincent and organizer of the webinar said she looks forward to a thought-provoking discussion about the careers of distinguished women scientists, inviting students, faculty, and those interested in the changing landscape of STEM to join this rich discussion.
Dr. Vincent added that it is necessary for women active in STEM to exchange visions and practical experiences with generations of young scientists, pointing out that these discussions may inspire young people to envision a future in which STEM fields offer more inclusive and equitable opportunities for women.
