Hassad Signs Two MoU with QAFCO and Islamic Organization for Food Security
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - Hassad Food Company signed today two memoranda of understanding with Qatar Chemical Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) and the Islamic Organization for Food Security, on the sidelines of its participation in the 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ) which will conclude tomorrow, Monday.
The two agreements were signed by the Executive Vice-President of Hassad Food Company Eng. Ali Hilal Al-Kuwari, and by QAFCO Chief Operations Officer Ahmed Ismail Mohamed Rahimi, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security Yerlan Baidaulet.
The memorandum of understanding between Hassad and QAFCO includes the allocation of Hassad Company to areas within its local farms for scientific research and allowing QAFCO to use its laboratories to analyze soil, water and fertilizer samples, with the aim of monitoring the performance of agricultural inputs and improving the quality of production.
This memorandum comes as a continuation of the successful cooperation between the two companies in the experimental greenhouse project that was launched in 2019 on the farm of Hassad Company in Al Sheehaniya with the aim of saving water and increasing local agricultural production.
As for the memorandum of understanding between Hassad and the Islamic Organization for Food Security, it includes establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in food projects of a strategic dimension and importance for the member states of the Islamic Organization, including the State of Qatar.
Hassad Food Company is wholly owned by Qatar Investment Authority. Hassad Food Company owns many strategic commercial investments internationally and locally, which aim to support the food security efforts of the State of Qatar. (QNA)
