CRA Holds Qatar IT Roundtable

Doha, March 22 (QNA) - The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) will hold tomorrow Qatar Information Technology (IT) Roundtable with the presence and participation of HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, along with leaders of the local industry, senior representatives of the IT sector in the State of Qatar, and representatives of government entities and academia.
The CRA will hold the Roundtable in line with its keenness to engage directly with stakeholders and key players in the IT sector to exchange views and experiences about the local industry development. The event is happening in the context of the IT sector a crucial enabler of economic growth and diversification, social prosperity, and environmental sustainability, considering the global rapid technological development and Qatar's ambition to become a digital hub for the region.
The discussion that will happen in the event will support CRA efforts on building insights for further government initiatives for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector and development of effective regulatory framework in support of sector growth and enabling it to reach its full potential in the future.
The interactive discussion during the event will focus on building insights for sector practices and will explore challenges and development opportunities for the future of the IT sector. The Roundtable will start with a high-level panel discussion, where panelists will discuss requirements and demand of the IT sector and showcase some success stories and development initiatives for the local business. The event will further continue with CRA's overview and current initiatives related to the IT sector and a presentation on IT regional and global trends. The core of the Roundtable will be a moderated discussion on local market perspectives with the participation of Qatar's industry leaders, academia and wider ecosystem.
The CRA Qatar IT Roundtable is held in conjunction with large-scale survey launched by the CRA to study the ICT sector in the State of Qatar. The Survey is carried as a strategic initiative and is part of CRA's efforts on building measurements and a comprehensive understanding of the local IT industry and ICT sector as a whole. (QNA)
