QNA Celebrates 47th Anniversary of Its Founding
Doha, May 25 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) celebrated Wednesday the 47th anniversary of its founding. It was established on May, 25 by Amiri Decree No. 94 of 1975.
This year's celebration coincided with a major development process that the agency witnessed over the past months, including the launch of its new website, keeping pace with modern transformations in the field of communication and artificial intelligence, in addition to developing its pages on social networking sites (whose number of its followers remarkably increased in record time), expanding the coverage of national, regional and international events, in a comprehensive manner, that keeps pace with the events, and goes in line with the general vision of the country.
On this occasion, Director-General of Qatar News Agency Ahmed Said Jaber Al Rumaihi said that the Agency has moved to professional media work, thanks to the great support it receives from the wise leadership, and thanks to the efforts made by the employees, each in his own field.
He expressed his thanks to all the staff of the Agency for their appreciated efforts, vowing to work towards further development and improvement in the Agency to occupy a proper position, and to be in the ranks of international news agencies.

He added that the emergence of what is known as "mass media", social media, and the massive shifts in the field of communication have led to major changes in the methods of producing, distributing and receiving information. This posed a major challenge to traditional media. Qatar News Agency (QNA) realized this early on, so it worked to develop its work and expand its production circle. It no longer provides solid news only, but produces reports, both written and illustrated, and presents information to the reader in an easy and interesting form.
At the conclusion of his speech, Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA), Ahmed Said Jaber Al Rumaihi pledged to continue the Agency's development plans and maintain its excellence.
It is worth noting that the number of followers of Qatar News Agency's accounts on social media has increased remarkably despite its recent launch. (QNA)
