Taiwan Does Not Want to Close Door to China

  • Taiwan

Taipei, June 12 (QNA) - Prime Minister of Taiwan Su Tseng-chang said today that Taiwan does not want to close the door to China and is ready to communicate in good faith but on the basis of equality and without imposing political preconditions.
He further added that as long as there is equality, reciprocity, and no political preconditions to be set, Taiwan is ready to communicate in good faith with China, stressing that Taiwan does not want to close the door to China.
These statements come as the relations between Taipei and Beijing are witnessing a significant rapture with the increase of political and military pressure from China; to get the island to accept China's sovereignty, China said that Taiwan, which enjoys democratic rule, is its territory.
Earlier today, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe said at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore that China would fight to the end if they tried to separate Taiwan, adding, any side tries to separate Taiwan from China, the latter will not hesitate to fight, at any cost to the end. (QNA)
