Environment Ministry Partakes in International Meeting to Exchange Experiences in Radiological, Nuclear Emergencies Fields

Doha, June 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Department of Radiation and Chemical Protection, is participating in the 11th meeting of the regulators within the Convention on Early Notification of A Nuclear Accident and Convention on Assistance in the Case of A Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over two days via videoconferencing.
Representatives of the IAEA Member States participate in the meeting to exchange international experiences in radiological and nuclear emergencies.
The State of Qatar acceded to the two aforementioned agreements in 2015, and specialists from the Department of Radiation and Chemicals Protection at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change participate annually in these emergency meetings to train on approved international communication processes and protocols for requesting international assistance of international organizations through the contact points of the State of Qatar.
