President of Republic of Venezuela Calls on Qatari Businessmen to Invest in his Country

Doha, June 16 (QNA) - HE President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, called on Qatari businessmen to invest in his country and to enjoy the benefits offered by the Venezuelan government to investors.
During a meeting with members of the Qatari Businessmen Association, His Excellency reviewed opportunities for tourism and investment cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the need to closely identify potential investment opportunities in Venezuela.
HE President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela also praised the economic prosperity that the State of Qatar is experiencing.
His Excellency pointed out that Venezuela enjoys many attractive advantages for investment in which it needs the support of the State of Qatar, pointing out that there are 18 national development engines in Venezuela, including agriculture, industry, gas and petroleum, tourism and communications, among others.
His Excellency stressed that his government has developed strategies to promote these engines and push the wheel of production forward, and is working on developing an advanced legal framework to meet potential challenges.
For his part, Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al-Thani, a member of the Associations Board of Directors, stressed the importance of the relations between the State of Qatar and Venezuela, which began in the seventies of the last century, pointing to the importance of the visit of HE President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro to Doha in strengthening cooperation between the two countries, and working on revitalizing economic and trade relations. His Excellency also indicated the interest of Qatari businessmen to learn about the investment opportunities available in Venezuela.
For their part, the members of the association stressed the keenness of the State of Qatar to develop its relations with all countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current economic situation, and the state's orientation towards achieving self-sufficiency in various vital sectors, which is the same thing that Venezuela is working on as well, stressing the possibility of partnership in light of the investment incentives provided by the State of Qatar to the foreign investor, as well as what Venezuela is working on to attract the investor. HE President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela stated that a law on free economic zones will be issued in the coming days, in addition to indicating the expected growth rates for the next year, which range between 10 and 15 percent.
