Qatar to Participate Sunday in Arab Meeting on Media Strategy in Cairo

Doha, June 16 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, participated in the agricultural exhibition "GreenTech 2022" in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, which focuses on protected and indoor crops, and presents the latest technology in this field.
The Ministrys participation was represented by the Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department Yousef Khaled Al Khulaifi, and the Director of the Food Security Department Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, with the aim of reviewing all that is new in the field of protected and indoor agriculture, which is considered the strategic option to reach self-sufficiency in vegetables, especially in the period the summer.
The Ministry of Municipality also signed a joint cooperation in the field of developing agriculture under smart greenhouses with Wageningen University & Research, which is considered one of the world's leading universities in the field of agriculture and food security.
The cooperation agreement was signed at the State of Qatar's pavilion at the Floriade Expo in the Netherlands by Director of the Food Security Department Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, and Dr. Sjaak Bakker, Director of the Business Unit at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
This agreement allows cooperation in the field of developing agriculture in greenhouses to achieve self-sufficiency in vegetables in accordance with the National Food Security Strategy, in addition to contributing to building human cadres through scholarships, training courses and technical advice.
