Ministry of Education And Higher Education Holds Annual Meeting For Guidance Under Banner "Leadership And Pioneering"

Doha, June 16 (QNA) - The Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education held today the annual meeting for guidance under the banner "Leadership and Pioneering".
In her speech on this occasion, the Director of the Educational Guidance Department, Moza Ali Al Mudahka indicated that the banner of this meeting confirms the launch of the department from an original educational philosophy, which consolidates the leadership and pioneering role of the educational mentor, as an educational leader who aspires to leadership and excellence, and makes his teachers distinguished leaders.
She explained that the management plan was evidently in commensurate with the ministry's strategy in accordance with its five key themes of enrollment, academic achievement, manpower, citizenship, values, institutional development and governance. She indicated that this year's plan encompassed 9 operational goals, and that the self-revision resulted in great achievements in in the entire themes of the plan that which would not have been accomplished without the concerted efforts and improving teamwork.
In addition, she noted the existence of increasing proportion of the enrolled students in the scientific tracks, which contributed to achieving an added value this year of 5% compared to last year, while the academic guidance initiative continued to prepare junior students to join scientific and technological disciplines, pointing out that the findings of academic accomplishment revealed that schools achieved an added value this year, while more than 85 percent of schools achieved academic accomplishment rates of more than 70 percent.
In a related context, the Director of the Educational Guidance Department hailed the students of the State of Qatar for obtaining advanced positions and medals in international contests, noting that the Department's plan underscores the procedures that ensure upgrading the capabilities of the supervisory skills of educational mentors and coordinators of study subjects in schools, in addition to ensuring the quality of the professional practices of the deputy manager for Academic Affairs, and upgrading the capabilities of teachers in the educational practices.
Moza Ali Al Mudahka also focused on the educational sphere satisfaction rates with regard to upgrading the capabilities of human cadres, supervising viewing lessons with the aim of bolstering teachers skills, as well as counseling training sessions, and efforts dedicated to solidifying the supervisory skills among educational mentors by organizing the first and second professional development week during this year and the distinguished practices competition for the exchange of experiences between departments, while the self-revision unveiled important findings pertaining to the promotion of citizenship and values in schools.
She elucidated that increasing the proportion of secondary school students' enrollment to the scientific tracks, including science and engineering in the upcoming year will be one of the key priorities of the Educational Guidance Department, in addition to optimizing the students learning and education to have positive impact on the results of local and international tests, solidifying the supervisory skills of mentors and coordinators, optimizing teachers professional performance in teaching methods and utilizing technology, and promoting values, heritage, Qatari identity and respect for peoples among students through the curriculum.
