Warsaw, June 18 (QNA) - The Polish government is calling for new punitive measures against Russia to maintain economic pressure on Moscow to end its war on Ukraine.
"In our view, a seventh package of sanctions must be imposed as soon as possible. We must continue to pressure," Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukas Jasina told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag before the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on Monday.
"We will go ahead with this, we have the support of our Baltic partners and we hope that other Europeans will also agree to tougher sanctions," he added.
At the beginning of this month, the European Union announced the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, which includes reducing Russian oil imports by 90 percent by the end of this year, and the sanctions temporarily exclude oil coming through the pipeline. (QNA)
