Riyadh, July 06 (QNA) - The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf welcomed today the accord establishing armistice in Yemen on the occasion of blessed Eid al-Adha.
The United Nations announced today that the parties to the conflict in Yemen reached an agreement today establishing armistice.
In a statement, The Secretary General of the Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al-Hajraf lauded the efforts of UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg dedicated to strengthening the commitment to the current valid armistice since it has been renewed for two additional months last June, in commensurate with the Saudi initiative announced in March 2021 to end the crisis in Yemen through a comprehensive peaceful settlement.
Al-Hajraf underscored that establishing the armistice reflects the significance prioritized by the international community to end the Yemeni crisis, hailing the efforts of UN Special Envoy for Yemen and the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, including all parties to the conflict in establishing the armistice ahead of blessed Eid al-Adha that would yield the continuation for creating the conducive atmospheres for the Yemeni parties to embark on the political solution and reaching a comprehensive peace that fulfils the aspirations of the Yemeni people to attain unity, security, peace and stability, in addition to economic and social progress.
