Doha, July 18 (QNA) - Qatar Navigation (Milaha), a Qatari shareholding company, announced that it won a contract worth QAR 1.4 billion from QatarEnergy for a period of five years, subject to renewal, to provide engineering, logistics, supply and undersea construction work for offshore oil and gas projects in the State of Qatar.
President and Acting CEO of Milaha Eng. Mohammed Abdullah Sweidan said on Monday that the contract represents the largest commercial transaction in Milaha's history, noting that this achievement will enhance the company's position as a reliable provider and partner of choice for major oil and gas field development projects in Qatar.
Sweidan noted that winning this contract confirms Milaha's ability to provide value-added services to its partners in the field of engineering and construction under and above sea level, while adhering to the highest standards of health and safety.
Milaha is committed to working to achieve its strategy to continue developing its capabilities in serving major oil and gas projects in Qatar, especially with regard to inspection, repair and maintenance operations, which will contribute to Qatar's 'Tawteen' program to enhance the supply chain for the energy sector in Qatar.
