PSA: YoY 9.3% Surge in Total Broad Money Supply Last June

Doha, August 02 (QNA) - The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) issued Tuesday its monthly statistics bulletin "Qatar; Monthly Statistics," which showed that Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR 675.1 billion during June 2022, an annual increase of 9.3% compared with June 2021. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for approximately QR 984 billion during June 2022. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 2.4% compared to June 2021, when deposits recorded approximately QR 960.6 billion.
The report highlighted the increase in deposits and credit facilities for commercial banks at a monthly rate of 1.7% and 0.7%, respectively (compared to May 2022), an annual increase of 2.4% and 1.4%, respectively (compared to June 2022).
The report revealed the increase in the value of sold properties during June 2022 by 109.6% compared to May 2022 to record approximately QR 2.84 billion and annual increase of 39.6% compared to June 2021.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 755 permits during June 2022, recording a monthly Increase of 17.1% and an annual increase of 2.9%.
Another prominent change is the total number of new driving licenses, which increased on a monthly basis by 44.9% (compared to May 2022), and on an annual basis by 136.8% (compared to June 2021). Non-Qatari males were the vast majority of total new driving licenses at 82% which increased on a monthly basis by 39.8% (compared to May 2022), and on an annual basis by 155.4% (compared to June 2021).
The total number of registered new vehicles during October 2021 has reached 8,011 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 22.6% and an annual increase of 53.1%.
As for the data concerning traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, it reached a total number of 746 cases during June 2022 showing a monthly decrease of 9.2% compared to May 2022 and an annual increase of 36.1% compared to June 2021. Total cases of minor casualties recorded the vast majority of cases of these accidents during the same month with 92% followed by cases of major casualties with 6%. As for the total cases of death it reached 14 cases of death recording 2% of traffic accident cases.
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.5 million during June 2021 to 2.66 million at end of June 2022.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2029 live births have been registered during June 2022. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 4.1% compared to last May 2022. On the other hand, 178 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 12.7% compared to May 2022.
Moreover, June 2022 has experienced a monthly increase by 8.4% and 21.9% in marriage contracts and divorce certificates respectively. The total number of marriage contracts was 373 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces has reached 267 divorce cases.
The data showed an annual increase in the number of visitor arrivals by 499.5% during June 2022 to reach 145,600 visitor compared to 24,300 visitor during June 2021.
As for the Social Security statements, reached QR 79 million in June 2022, for 14,436 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 0.2% for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.1% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
Total electricity consumption during June 2022 was 5,164.3 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 14.1% and an annual increase of 4.5%. While the total water consumption has reached 56,628.5 thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 1.1% and an annual decrease of 1.9%. (QNA)
