Beijing, August 05 (QNA) - China's Foreign Ministry announced Friday that it has lodged official protests to Japan and several European countries against statements on Taiwan issued by G7's foreign ministers and the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
This comes after G7's foreign ministers called on China to resolve the tension around Taiwan's straight peacefully. The statement expressed the G7's concern by recent and announced threatening actions by the Peoples Republic of China (PRC), particularly live-fire exercises and economic coercion, which risk unnecessary escalation which comes over U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said in a statement that the recent Japanese officials' statements over the current tension in Taiwan's strait is an attempt to justify wrong actions. (QNA)
