Ministry of Municipality Issues Requirements and Services Guidebook for Building Permits System

Doha, August 06 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Building Permits Complex Department, launched the first edition of the "Requirements and Services of the Building Permits System Guidebook in the State of Qatar 2022"; for the purpose of presenting the list of engineering requirements, documents and other service authorities permits necessary for the submission of a building permit application. The Ministry also issued the third edition of the "Building Requirements Guide in the State of Qatar" after adding a number of improvements and updates that has to be included in new buildings.
Director of the Building Permits Complex Department at the Ministry of Municipality Engineer Saad Abdul Karim Al Qahtani said that the launch of the first edition of the Requirements and Services of the Building Permits System Guidebook, and the issuance of the third edition of the Building Requirements Guide in the State of Qatar come within the framework of periodic updates on the building permit requirements to keep pace with the urban developments in the country and respond to needs of the real estate developers, engineering consultancies and those interested in the building and construction field. These editions are part of a continuous development process taking place in the ministry on all fronts, and the result of the efforts of the ministrys multi-disciplinary development team whose work continued for four years.
Al Qahtani explained that the ministry launched the first version of the requirements and services guide of the building permits in order to facilitate procedures and clarify the requirements that must be met for building permits. Moreover, the guide contained (403 pages) divided into (5 chapters). The Guide provides a list of required documents, designs, engineering drawings and plans that must be submitted in applying for building. Additionally, the guide provides other information, details and forms needed to successfully complete the application process.
Furthermore, it includes the various types of buildings whether residential, commercial, administrative, industrial, services or others with each one of their particular specifications, requirements, and needed documents.
The Director confirmed that the third edition of the requirements guide dealt with an opening speech by HE the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, in which the minister stressed the importance of encouraging investment in the real estate sector in order to take part in the process of urban and civilizational developments that the country is undergoing, of which the State of Qatars building planning and design regulations are one manifestation. Moreover, this guide represents an important reference document for Qatar-based real estate developers and advisory offices.
Al Qahtani added that the guide included several improvements and updates to the design and planning requirements that must be met in a building, noting that the second edition of the guide, which was launched in November 2021, contained a number (2127 pages) divided into (47 chapters). However, after being updated and revised the new and third edition contains (2,399 pages) divided into (52 chapters). Furthermore, Al Qahtani pointed out that this guide targets all those concerned with the building and construction sector in Qatar, and contains all planning, organizational, and design requirements for buildings, representing one of the ministrys most important projects in implementing its strategic plan, and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
