Doha, August 08 (QNA) - The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) announced today a number of events and activities set to be organized during August 2022 targeting children and their families with the aim of getting familiarized with the evolution that the State of Qatar has witnessed, including traditional weaving, and to explore more information about the NMoQ collection.
In this context, NMoQ is due to organize a virtual field trip every Sunday and Tuesday during the whole month of August for university and school students both in Qatar and abroad for the sake of further exploring NMoQ from their classes, where students would engage in an impressive interactive experience with the NMoQ instructor through live broadcasting streams.
In addition, schools can select one of the topics during the virtual trip that is set to last for 45 minutes, including life on the coast in Qatar, Qatari architecture, discovery of black gold and transformation in Qatar, and the modern history of Qatar.
During August 15, 17, 22 and 24, an event entitled "Discovery of Black Gold and Transformation in Qatar" will be organized, where participants will learn about the positive impact of oil and natural gas discovery in Qatar, and its contribution to the country's development in the cultural, economic and political fields.
On Saturday, August 27, an event will be dedicated to families through organizing a workshop under the theme "Light Projection", during which the participants would learn to use the mirror and spotlights and further combine different materials and shapes to produce a new artwork inspired by the exhibition "Pipilotti Rist: Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You." Arab Museum of Modern Art is due to organize a workshop entitled "Story Time at Mathaf" on August 20 for children aged 7-12 along with their families to learn about the relationship between art and storytelling.
