Arab League Condemns Closure of Civil Work Institutions by Israeli Occupation Forces in Palestine

  • ARABLEAGUE

Cairo, August 18 (QNA) - General-Secretariat of the Arab League has vehemently condemned with strongest terms the blatant assault perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces Thursday morning against six human rights and civil society institutions in Ramallah in which they smashed the contents of the offices, seized documents, and closed their doors.

In a statement on Thursday, the Arab League confirmed that such assault comes within the framework of the persistent Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people through shedding their blood, violating their rights, and desecrating their holy places, pointing out that the aggression comes within the context of the constant targeting and Israeli attempts to muffle the voice of reason and truth, in addition to obscuring the brutal crimes being committed by the Israeli occupation forces daily that require immediate accountability and criminal prosecution before the international justice courts.

It called on the Arab and international civil society organizations to condemn and expose these Israeli policies and assaults, including those perpetrated against the Palestinian human rights institutions, and promptly take further action and necessary measures to counter the Israeli assaults.

Also, the General-Secretariat of the Arab League called on the human rights council and UN security council to uphold their responsibilities in providing the essential protection as endorsed by the international legitimacy in Palestine on the way to ending the Israeli occupation and empowering the right of Palestinian people to freedom and independence.
