We deeply appreciate the role played by Qatar in signing of the Doha Accords. We are also appreciative of the humanitarian assistance provided by the State of Qatar to the people of Afghanistan," he said, stressing that both countries "believe that humanitarian efforts should continue in Afghanistan".

Voicing support for all initiatives seeking to bring about peace in Afghanistan, His Excellency said, "In terms of the security situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan firmly believes that a peaceful, stable, prosperous and connected Afghanistan is in our best interest".

"From the outset, Pakistan has stressed that there has to be constructive engagement between the international community and Afghanistan for the sake of 40 million Afghan people. We have also underscored that the Interim Afghan authorities have to be responsive on the expectations of the international community on issues such as inclusivity, respect for human rights and girls' education, and effective counter-terrorism actions. Continued communication and engagement can increase mutual understanding and help advance shared goals," he affirmed.

His Excellency added that "Pakistan stands by its Afghan brethren in these tough times marked by the dire humanitarian situation and economic crisis", warning that "instability in Afghanistan can cause spillover effects in the region and beyond".

Commenting on his country's endeavors to address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, he said "Pakistan provided humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, including in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. The Government of Pakistan organized the 17th Extraordinary Session of OIC on the grave humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and proposed a trust fund dedicated to humanitarian uplift in Afghanistan. The Government of Pakistan is also disbursing assistance worth Rs. 5 billion in support of the Afghan people".

He also affirmed that his country has "the most liberal and open investment regimes where investors can freely move their assets and earnings", highlighting the "special incentives to investors" in the country's Special Economic Zones.
