Doha, August 31 (QNA) - The Ministry of Labor (MoL) has launched another set of e-services on its digital platform.
The latest package included two e-services requesting a secondment work permit and renewing a secondment work permit.
The e-service for requesting a secondment work permit has been launched to allow any employee, already registered with an establishment, to obtain a secondment work permit to work part-time or full-time with a temporary employer while staying with their current employer. The new employer can request the secondment work permit for a particular employee online, with the employee's current employer being notified about the request automatically. Once approved, the permit will be attested by the Labor Relations Department at MoL and issued online for both parties.
This service requires the new employer to apply for a secondment request from the current employer for a particular worker and to specify the secondment data such as the duration and the type of secondment either full or part-time work. After the approval of the current employer, a secondment of the employee is issued by the Ministry of Labor electronically.
The "Renewing a secondment work permit" e-service allows for the renewal of existing secondment work permits for an additional period and together with the "Request for secondment work permit" e-service, the process of requesting and renewing secondment work permits becomes a fully digital, automated, and paperless service, minimizing the need for applicants to visit the Ministry offices in person.
There are terms of conditions for the secondment services. One of these conditions is that the secondment request service requires that the establishment is subjected to the provisions of Labor Law No. 14 of 2004, In addition to that, the establishment registration should be valid, and has no violation of the provisions of the Labor Law on the establishment submitting the request, Moreover, the secondment period should not exceed a maximum of six months, and the secondment period does not exceed secondment work permit expiry date of the worker's residence.
The Ministry of Labor is currently seeking to launch a comprehensive automated system for all the services, that will be published within the coming period, especially for companies that comply with the provisions of the law. Accordingly, the Ministry of Labor will be working on providing a continuous improvement of the published services to be fully utilized and to ensure the quality of services in coordination with various entities.
This latest launch of e-services brings up a total of 20 e-services developed and released by the Ministry of Labor over the past four months with an average release every three weeks, as the Ministry's Transformation Management Office adopts the Agile methodology for service development and release, with the launch of nearly 60 additional e-services expected within the coming year.
