Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt: Egyptian President's Visit Reflects Distinguished Relations

Doha, September 12 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Salem Mubarak Al Shafi affirmed the significance of the visit which HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will pay to the State of Qatar; noting that this visit, which is His Excellency's first visit to Qatar, reflects the level of excellence that the relations between the two brotherly countries have reached.

In a statement on this occasion, HE Ambassador Al Shafi told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the visit of HE the Egyptian President to the State of Qatar comes within the framework of the positive momentum witnessed in the relations between Doha and Cairo, which culminated in the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Egypt in June, and the summit talks that His Highness held with HE the Egyptian President, which focused on ways to enhance the bilateral cooperation in various fields, in addition to regional and international issues and files of mutual interest.

His Excellency noted that the entire world is undergoing exceptional circumstances, with many lingering conflicts and wars. These challenges require activating the diplomatic role and continuous consultation between the leaderships of the two countries in order to exchange views and discuss the best way to address these issues.

His Excellency commended the level of progress achieved in the Qatari-Egyptian relations since his tenure as Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Egypt has begun, noting that this can be seen in the great momentum these relations have gained and the increasing activity at the level of cooperation and consultation, especially after the regular meeting of the follow-up committee between the two countries that was held in the recent past, as well as the mutual visits at the ministerial level and at the level of senior officials.

These visits built the foundations of bilateral relations, paving the way for an expanded future cooperation that achieves the mutual interests of the two countries under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, HE Ambassador Al Shafi added.

In a related context, His Excellency also commended the progress and dynamism witnessed in the fields of cooperation between the two countries in many economic, tourism and sports sectors, underlining that the State of Qatar chose the Egyptian team (Zamalek) to be alongside the Saudi team (Al Hilal) in the opening match of Lusail Stadium, on which the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be held.

In his statements, His Excellency also emphasized the care given by the State of Qatar to the Egyptian community in Doha, adding that this community participates in the renaissance that Qatar is currently witnessing in all fields, which -in turn- reflects the historicity and sustainability of these relations and the keenness to consolidate them.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Egypt concluded his statements by expressing his confidence that the visit of HE Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Qatar, which will culminate in results that will achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the two brotherly countries in all fields, and will establish an unprecedented breakthrough in the process of cooperation between them.
