Algeria, on September 16 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit today the province of Guelma, northeastern Algeria.
The Center of Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics in Algeria said in a statement, that the tremor occurred 7 km northeast of Guelma province.
No details have been released so far about any injuries or material losses.
Algeria is subjected from time to time to earthquakes, the most violent of which was an 8.6 magnitude earthquake that hit the country in May 2003, killing 2,277 people.(QNA)
