State of Qatar Participates in International Day for Preservation of Ozone Layer

Dubai, September 17 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, participated in the celebration held in Dubai and organized by the United Nations Environment Programme's West Asia Office to mark the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer and the 35th Anniversary of the signing of the Montreal Protocol.
During the celebration, which was held under the theme: 'Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth', a representative of the Department of Radiation and Chemical Protection at the Ministry gave a visual presentation on the most important achievements of the State of Qatar in implementing the requirements of the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol.
The International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer falls on September 16 of each year, and its preservation is a collective responsibility that requires societal awareness and integrated efforts to reduce ozone-depleting substances and encourage environmentally friendly alternatives.(QNA)
