Ooredoo Cup Round 1/ Al Arabi Beat Al Shamal... Al Gharafa Defeat Al Rayyan

Doha, September 20 (QNA) - Al Arabi defeated Al Shamal 1-0 in Round 1, Group B of the 2022-2023 season Ooredoo Cup at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Tuesday.
Rami Suhail scored late in the first half (45+2) and Al Arabi held on well to the lead till the very end of the evenly-fought match.
The successful strike was a result of Abdulla Nasser Al Muraisis superb assist as he broke past two players and beat the challenge of another player to produce the cross from the left. Rami was positioned right in front of the goal and beat the goalkeeper with a cool deflect.
Group B also includes Al Duhail, Al Markhiya, Al Gharafa and Al Rayyan.
In another game played at the same time, Al Gharafa got the better of Al Rayyan by a 4-3 margin at the Al Wakrah Stadium.
Yacine Brahimi (eighth-minute penalty), Ishak Belfodil (57th-minute penalty), Ayoub Mohamed (65th minute) and Andri Syahputra (84th minute) found the target for Al Gharafa.
Tamim Mansour (third minute), Khaled Ali (16th minute) and Omar Yasani (90+4) scored for Al Rayyan.
Al Duhail, Al Markhiya, Al Arabi and Al Shamal are the other teams in Group B.
Al Gharafa are placed fourth in the 2022-2023 QNB Stars League with 12 points. (QNA)
