Arab Parliament Affirms Solidarity with Palestine to Obtain UN Full Membership

Cairo, October 03 (QNA) -The Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament affirmed the solidarity and full support of the Parliament for the State of Palestine's quest and right to obtain full membership in the United Nations, and its right to join international organizations and covenants with the aim of strengthening its legal and international status and embodying the independence of its sovereignty over its occupied land.
During its meeting today, at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat, to discuss the draft resolution on Palestine, the committee affirmed the full solidarity of the Arab Parliament with the State of Palestine and the full support of the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of the Palestinian state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative in letter, spirit and sequence.
During the meeting, Representative Fahmi Al-Za'arir briefed the members of the Palestine Committee on the latest developments in Palestine, in the shadow of the continuation and escalation of the attacks carried out by the colonizers and the Israeli occupation forces against the citizens, letting of the Palestinian blood, assassinations, the confiscation and demolition of their homes as well as the continued denial by the occupation authorities of the resolutions of international legitimacy, the United Nations Charter and the international laws.
The committees meeting deals with all issues related to Palestine, including the prisoners files, which included adult prisoners, children as well as longest-serving male and female prisoners, settlement issues, bodies of martyrs and daily field executions. Attacks by settlers, the ongoing crimes, violations of the occupation authorities in the occupied city of Jerusalem, their attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, demolitions, forced displacement of the people of Jerusalem, the recent occupiers' aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Israelization of school curricula in the city of Jerusalem and the need to address it will also features in the discussions.
The Arab Parliament will hold tomorrow the plenary session of the third meeting of its third legislative term, with its new formation, after it held last Saturday the procedural session to elect the Speaker, his deputies, and the heads of the permanent committees. (QNA)
