Doha, October 05 (QNA) - Widam Food Company, a Qatari shareholding company, announced the start of procedures for establishing "Widam Tanzania" Company, which is specialized in trading and exporting meat to the Qatari market and the region.

The establishment of the new company is coming in line with Widam Company's strategy, which aims at expanding its foreign commercial activity, as Widam Tanzania's imports of meat will contribute to covering the growing demand in the local market at reasonable prices, in light of the inflation witnessed by global meat prices, the company said in a statement published on Qatar Stock Exchange website.

The establishment of Widam Tanzania also aims at enhancing meat import operations from global meat-exporting countries to the State of Qatar and the region, such as the Republic of Tanzania, whose products have witnessed a growth and popularity in their sales in the recent period, due to their quality and competitive prices.

It is worth noting that Widam Food Company has expanded its import network, which has now reached 25 countries around the world, with the aim of diversifying import sources to provide the best products at the lowest cost in order to serve consumers.

Widam has supplied shipments of Tanzanian meat to the local market since the beginning last year.

Besides, Widam supplies meat to a number of Arab countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan.
