Doha, October 12 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday afternoon.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement: At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet welcomed the results of the state visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Czech Republic on October 5, during which His Highness held fruitful talks with HE the Czech President Milos Zeman and HE Prime Minister Petr Fiala on the development of bilateral cooperation and regional and international developments.

The Cabinet affirmed that the atmosphere of friendship that prevailed in the discussions and the common desire to expand the areas of cooperation and enhance the investment partnership have boosted the relations between the two countries to a new stage for the benefit of their two friendly peoples, especially in light of the joint declaration signed during the visit regarding mutual support for the completion of the bilateral investment agreement, as well as the agreement that was signed on economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the governments of the two countries.

The Cabinet commended the State of Qatar's victory of the presidency of the Executive Council of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, at the meeting of the Organization's General Assembly, which was held Tuesday in Tunis, Tunisia.

Qatar's victory comes as an extension of its achievements under the leadership of HH the Amir in regional and international forums, appreciation of its positive role in supporting joint Islamic action and its stances towards issues of the Islamic world, and its continuous efforts to enhance the food security system in Islamic countries. It also confirms the success of the plans and projects of the State of Qatar to achieve food security in accordance with the National Food Security Strategy (2018-2023), and obtaining an advanced position in the Global Food Security Index.

Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - Approval of a draft Cabinet decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 26 of 2017 establishing the coordination committee between the entities operating at Hamad International Airport.

The committee established in the General Authority of Civil Aviation is specialized, among other things, with coordinating work between all entities operating at Hamad International Airport to facilitate the operations and activities of air transport and the movement of aircraft, passengers, goods and post to and from the country, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, and provide the necessary requirements to facilitate the work of the airport's activities.

Second - Approval of:

1- A draft decision of the Minister of Public Health to amend tables No. 1 and 3 attached to Law No. 9 for 1987 regarding combating narcotics and dangerous psychotropic substances and regulating their use.

2- A draft decision of the Minister of Municipality regarding the non-curative public health requirements that must be met in some shops.

Third - Approval of increasing the non-Qatari investor's ownership percentage in the capital of some joint stock companies listed on the stock exchange.

Under this decision, a non-Qatari investor may own up to 100 percent of the capital of the following companies:

1- Aamal Company, a Qatari public shareholding company.

2- Industries Qatar, a Qatari public shareholding company.

3- Qatar Aluminum Manufacturing Company (QAMCO), a Qatari public shareholding company.

4- Gulf International Services Company, a Qatari public shareholding company.

5- Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company, a Qatari public shareholding company.

6- Barwa Group, a Qatari public shareholding company.

Fourth - The Cabinet followed up the arrangements and preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

Fifth - The Cabinet, through the presentation presented by HE the President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, was briefed on the measures that have been taken to implement the proposed solutions to address the imbalance in the demographic structure, and the contents of the reports of the Permanent Population Committee on the status of Qatar's population.

The Permanent Population Committee, in coordination with the competent authorities, studies the population structure, its characteristics and trends, proposes the population policy of the state and follows up its implementation after its approval, prepares studies and research on the population to know the social reality in the state, develop population policies and programs, and a number of other tasks.

Sixth - The Cabinet discussed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:

1- A draft Cabinet decision to amend some provisions of Decision No. 34 for 2001 to form the coordination and follow-up committee stipulated in the law organizing the Central Municipal Council.

2- Results of the work of the heavy transport regulatory committee during the period from October 2021 to March 2022.

3- Results of the work of the Climate Change and Clean Development Committee.

4- Results of the 15th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the accompanying activities.
