Mural 'Birds Game' by Mexican Artist Unveiled at Katara

Doha, October 17 (QNA) - A new mural titled 'Birds Game' has been unveiled at the Katara Cultural Village today, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Mexico in Qatar.

Painted by Mexican artist Eva Bracamontes, the new mural can be found at the Katara Building 16.

The 'Birds Game' was inaugurated by the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, and in the presence of Charge d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Mexico Carlos Ivan Mendoza, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Al Sulaiti said that with the inauguration of this mural, Katara has added another artwork to the project of decorating the buildings and walls of the Katara Cultural Village, a wonderful and beautiful artwork to build bridges of communication from Qatar to Mexico, expressing full confidence that these murals will contribute to creating a variety of cultural windows with a diversity of themes, as well as the artists working on them.

Al Sulaiti added that the mural is the second that Katara has launched to celebrate Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022, after the mural 'Friends, Qatar and Cuba' was unveiled on Oct. 3, 2022.

He also praised the fruitful cultural cooperation between Katara and the Mexican Embassy on previous occasions, which produced many diverse activities and events, including the inauguration of the Mexican Corner.

The Mexican Ambassador, for his part, talked about the valued joint cooperation with the Katara Cultural Village Foundation to complete the mural, praising Katara's role in embracing various forms of cultural expression from all over the world.

He said that the mural opens the window towards Latin America, which strengthens the bridges of communication between peoples, no matter how far the distances are.

He stated that as Mexico looks forward to the FIFA World Cup, it is also taking this opportunity to engage with Qatar and the Gulf region in diverse and innovative ways.

The Mexican artist, Eva Bracamontes, is known for her studies of design and visual communication. She has participated in many international events for graffiti and urban art, in countries as diverse as Canada, the United States, Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, France, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and South Africa.
