Pakistani PM Appoints Lt. Gen. Asim Munir as New Chief of Army Staff

Islamabad, November 24 (QNA) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to appoint Lt. Gen. Asim Munir as the new Chief of Army Staff.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also appointed Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, (Radio Pakistan) said.
The Prime Minister's office received on Wednesday the list of candidates for the two positions.
Lt. Gen. Asim Munir will replace Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, who will retire later this month after a six-year term. (QNA)
