Doha, December 05 (QNA) - The Planning and Statistics Authority has released a new issue of "Qatar; Monthly Statistics" bulletin; highlighting the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during October 2022.
For the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 698 billion Qatari Riyals during October 2022, an annual increase of 14.1% compared with October 2021.
On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 954 billion Qatari Riyals during October 2022. The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 1.2% compared to October 2021, when deposits recorded approximately 965 billion Qatari Riyals.
The bulletin revealed that the total number of registered new vehicles during October 2022 has reached 12203 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 45.8% while showed an annual increase of 80.2%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 880 traffic cases were recorded during October 2022, showing a monthly increase of 9.6% and an annual increase by 23.2%. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 93%, followed by severe injuries by 5%. However, 15 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2363 live births have been registered during October 2022. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 20.2% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 221 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 3.9% compared to September 2022.
Moreover, October 2022 witnessed a monthly decrease of 4.9% and 7.5% of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates respectively compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 351 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 209 cases.
As for the total transactions of the e-government portal "Hukoomi", they witnessed a monthly increase of 11.1% (compared to September 2022), and an annual increase of 24.6% (compared to October 2021).
The Social Security statements reached 76 million Qatari Riyals in October 2022, for 13978 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 2.9% for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 3.3% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 972 permits during October 2022, recording a monthly increase of 10.0% and an annual increase of 41.9%.
Total electricity consumption during October 2022 was 3821.0 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 10.7% and an annual decrease of 16.4%. While the total water consumption has reached 32532.9 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 0.7% and an annual decrease of 43.7% comparing to October 2021.
The bulletin highlighted an increase in total number of vessels arriving at Qatari Ports and total net tonnage, at a monthly rate of 11.4% and 16.9%, respectively (compared to September 2022), and an annual increase of 12.5% and 23.2%, respectively (compared to October 2021).
As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 180 thousand, recording a monthly increase of 18.9% (compared to September 2022) and an annual increase of 111.9% (compared to October 2021).
The highest number of visitors was from the GCC countries at 34%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 70% of the total number of visitors.
