Ukraine's Grain Exports Drop by 30 Percent

Kyiv, December 28 (QNA) - The Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine announced today that the volume of grain exports in the current season fell by 30 percent to 22 million tons.
The ministry said in a statement that during the current agricultural season, 22 million tons of grain were exported since the first of July of this year, indicating that these quantities are lower by 30 percent compared with the annual indicators.
The ministry explained that those exports included 8.2 million tons of wheat, with decrease of 48 percent, 1.6 million tons of barley, with a decrease of 69 percent, and 12.2 million tons of corn, with an increase of 18 percent.
The Ukrainian authorities announced few days ago that their grain crops would decline this year by about 40 percent, due to the consequences of the ongoing Russian military operation which began 10 months back. (QNA)
