Beirut, January 11 (QNA) - Lebanese caretaker government on Wednesday announced the death of Hussein Al-Husseini, former Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, at the age of 86.

"Today Lebanon has lost an authentic national and constitutional figure," Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said. He announced a three-day official mourning, during which flags will fly at half-mast.

Al-Husseini Chaired the Lebanese Parliament in the midst of the civil war (1975-1990) between 1984 and 1992.

He was one of the founders of Amal Movement and a main contributor to the brokering of the Taif Agreement that ended the Lebanese Civil War in 1990.
