Port Vila, January 15 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Vanuatu on Sunday.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center stated that the tremor occurred 30 km southeast of Port Vila in Vanuatu, at a depth of 200 km.
There were no reports of human losses or material damage as a result of the tremor.
Vanuatu sits on the Ring of Fire, an arc of seismic faults around the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are common. (QNA)
