Berlin, January 16 (QNA) - German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced her resignation on Monday.
In a statement published by German Press Agency (dpa), German Defense Minister requested German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to relieve her from the position.
In her statement, the minister pointed out that media has been focusing on her personality for months, which could not enable her, to either issue objective reports, conduct discussions about the army soldiers, or determine security policy tracks for German citizens.
She stressed that the functions discharged by the soldiers, along with several enthusiasts in this field must be at the forefront, that is why she decided to resign. (QNA)
