Arab League Underscores Importance of Civil Society Organizations Role in Safeguarding Migrant Arab Families

Cairo, January 18 (QNA) - Arab League underlined the importance of the role undertaken by civil society organizations, whether in the diaspora, or those related to migration, integration and asylum in Arab states in adopting a participatory approach with governments.
Arab League outlined that such a role is absolutely critical to overcome the challenges posed by the transportation of persons phenomenon, whether on a regular basis or otherwise, especially their consequences on the migratory Arab families, and secure all causes of their social integration through maintaining their culture and Arabic identity elements.
This came in the speech delivered by the Assistant Secretary General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh before the symposium that was organized by the General-Secretariat of Arab League in cooperation with Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration in Canada.
The organization of such a symposium is a first-of-its-kind initiative with one of the Arabic civil society organization in diaspora stemming from the role undertaken by the center in assisting the Arab families residing in Canada, Abu Ghazaleh pointed out.
For his part, Assistant Secretary General at the League of Arab States Hossam Zaki underlined the importance of the pivotal role undertaken by the Arab communities in diaspora, in terms of the development efforts in the Arab states, stressing on the importance of finding mechanisms that promote communication among the Arab migrants, specially the Arabic competencies abroad.
