Tunis, January 19 (QNA) - The tourism sector in Tunisia achieved revenues estimated at USD 1.384 billion over the past year, an increase of 83.1 percent compared to 2021 revenues.

The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts said in a statement that the number of arrivals to Tunisia during the year 2022 reached 6,437,000 tourists of various nationalities, an increase of more than 160 percent compared to 2021.

The statement added that the indicators related to the tourism sector, which were recorded in 2022, exceeded the set goals represented in achieving between 50 and 60 percent of the 2019 rates before the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which negatively affected the tourism sector.
